TURBOSMART eSG50 StraightGate electronic external wastegate

The TURBOSMART eSG50 StraightGate is a 50 mm (1.97 in) butterfly valve style external wastegate for turbocharged engines. According to the manufacturer it flows more than a conventional 60 mm poppet valve and gives an almost linear response, for precise boost control across the entire operating range. It is controlled electronically from the engine ECU or the TURBOSMART BlackBox unit.
