Leather Fixative is used to fix dyes that bleed when leather is washed. It is also suitable for removing water stains and marks from natural and aniline leathers. Removes water marks, fixes dyes, versatile use.
COLOURLOCK Leather Fixative is a special fixing agent developed to stabilise unstable dyes in leather. Its main purpose is to stop dyes from dissolving and washing out during washing, which preserves the natural look of the material. Besides fixing colours, it is also very effective at removing unwanted water stains and tide marks from sensitive natural and aniline leathers.
Thanks to its gentle yet effective formula, it can be used in many areas:
Cars: Leather interiors, steering wheels and upholstery.
Fashion: Leather jackets, trousers, gloves and accessories.
Furniture: Leather sofas and armchairs made of sensitive leathers.
Other vehicles: Motorcycle clothing (suits), aircraft and boat interiors.
Colour stabilisation: Prevents dyes from degrading and bleeding on contact with water.
Texture rescue: Effectively removes water stains on aniline leather.
Easy to integrate: Designed to be used as part of the normal leather washing process.
The fixative is always applied before washing and only by soaking in a container.
Preparing the solution: Add about 50 ml of fixative to a container with 5–10 litres of lukewarm water. For a complete motorcycle suit, use the full 100 ml.
Soaking: Fully immerse the leather item in the solution.
Exposure time: Leave the leather to soak for at least 60 minutes. Move the item around occasionally during this time so the solution reaches all parts evenly.
Preparing for washing: When the time is up, take the item out and let it drip freely.
Washing: Put the wet item straight into the washing machine without rinsing it first. Wash according to the standard recommendations for leather.
Shake well before use.
Compatibility test: Before treating the whole surface, always test on an inconspicuous area. Check for any unwanted changes in the colour, appearance or feel of the leather.
Storage: Keep in the original container, protected from frost and extreme heat.
Keep out of the reach of children.
