Description

The Scangrip Detailing Kit Essential is a professional set of LED lights designed for detailing, polishing, inspecting painted surfaces and accurate colour assessment.

Instead of a single all-purpose light, you get a system that covers different stages of the job – a headlamp for hands-free work, a compact handheld light for close inspection and a powerful work light for lighting larger areas of the bodywork.

Lights from the SCANGRIP DETAILING & COLOUR MATCH range use LEDs with a high CRI+ colour rendering index, so you see the true condition and shade of the painted surface more accurately.

Why does good lighting matter so much in detailing?

Under ordinary workshop lighting, fine holograms, micro-scratches or missed spots can stay practically invisible. Changing the direction and colour temperature of the light brings out defects you could easily overlook with a single type of light.

The Scangrip kit lets you inspect the paint from different angles and at different colour temperatures. It is useful during paint correction, for the final check after polishing and when comparing colour shades.

I-MATCH 4 – light exactly where you look

The Scangrip I-MATCH 4 is a rechargeable detailing headlamp that lights your entire field of view and leaves both hands free.

It is ideal for polishing, interior inspection, work on intricate body parts and anywhere you need to focus on the surface without holding a lamp.

Key Features

  • light output 25 to 250 lm
  • colour temperature 2,500 to 6,500 K
  • 5 colour temperature settings
  • CRI+ 95
  • stepless dimming from approx. 10–100 %
  • run time approx. 2.5 to 23 hours
  • IP65 rating
  • sensor control for touch-free on and off

The sensor function is especially handy during polishing or cleaning, when your hands are busy or dirty.

MINIMATCH – compact light for close inspection

The Scangrip MINIMATCH is a small rechargeable inspection light for quick checks of individual areas of the surface.

It has two colour temperatures – 4,500 K and 6,500 K. Switching between warmer and cooler light helps when inspecting both light and dark paint.

Key Features

  • light output 100 or 200 lm
  • 2 colour temperatures – 4,500 / 6,500 K
  • CRI+ >95
  • run time approx. 2 to 4 hours depending on output
  • rotating hook
  • built-in magnet
  • head tilts up to 180°
  • IP65 rating

The MINIMATCH is particularly suited to checking progress after each polishing step, inspecting smaller panels and locating scratches and holograms in a specific spot.

MULTIMATCH R – powerful light for the whole work area

The Scangrip MULTIMATCH R is the most powerful light in the kit, with up to 1,200 lm.

Its big advantage is the CCT SCAN function. The light sweeps smoothly through the full colour temperature range from 2,500 to 6,500 K and you can then lock the selected value.

So when inspecting paint you are not tied to one light colour – you can see how the surface and its defects look under different lighting conditions.

Key Features

  • light output 120 to 1,200 lm
  • CCT SCAN 2,500 to 6,500 K
  • stepless colour temperature adjustment
  • CRI+ >96
  • 5 light output levels
  • run time approx. 0.8 to 10 hours depending on output
  • magnets built into the handle
  • can be mounted on the Scangrip Tripod or Wheel Stand
  • built-in USB output lets you use the light as a power bank
  • IP67 rating

CCT SCAN – why change the colour temperature?

Different paints and different defects can be easier to see at different colour temperatures. That is why Scangrip detailing lights work not only with intensity but also with light colour.

Warmer and cooler light is useful, for example, for:

Key Features

  • finding holograms after polishing
  • checking fine scratches and micro-defects
  • checking the finish on both light and dark paint
  • comparing colour shades
  • checking paint quality
  • the final inspection of the vehicle before handover to the customer

Three different lights instead of one compromise

Each light in the kit has its own job

  • I-MATCH 4 – when you need both hands free and the light should follow your gaze
  • MINIMATCH – for quick, close inspection of a specific spot
  • MULTIMATCH R – for lighting a larger work area and systematically inspecting a whole panel

It is the combination of these three types of light that makes the kit a practical solution for professional detailing, paint correction and refinishing work.

High CRI+ for more accurate colour rendering

CRI expresses how well a light source reproduces colours compared with natural light. For the DETAILING & COLOUR MATCH range, Scangrip uses the CRI+ rating, which the manufacturer evaluates based on all 15 R values.

High CRI+ matters most when inspecting painted surfaces and comparing shades, where ordinary work lights can distort the true colours considerably.

Practical carry bag

The whole kit is stored in a sturdy nylon bag with a practical carrying strap. The large main compartment protects the lights in storage and the side pockets hold small accessories.

The kit measures approx. 290 × 100 × 190 mm and weighs approx. 1.75 kg, so it is easy to carry between workstations.

What does the kit include?

Main benefits of the kit

  • complete lighting for professional detailing and paint inspection
  • three different types of light for different work situations
  • high CRI+ for more accurate colour rendering
  • adjustable colour temperatures to suit the surface being inspected
  • CCT SCAN from 2,500 to 6,500 K on the MULTIMATCH R
  • up to 1,200 lm output
  • headlamp for hands-free work
  • compact handheld light for spot inspection
  • suitable for finding holograms, scratches and other defects

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – What is the Detailing Kit Essential for?

The kit is designed for detailing, paint inspection, polishing, refinishing work and comparing colour shades. The different types of light let you inspect the surface up close as well as light a larger work area.

Why do I need different colour temperatures for detailing?

Some scratches, holograms and shade differences are more visible at one colour temperature than another. Switching between warm and cool light therefore helps you inspect the paint more thoroughly.

What is the most powerful light in the kit?

The MULTIMATCH R delivers up to 1,200 lm. It is suited to lighting larger areas of the bodywork and offers the stepless CCT SCAN function from 2,500 to 6,500 K.

Can I also use the lights to check the paint shade?

Yes. The lights belong to the SCANGRIP DETAILING & COLOUR MATCH range and use high CRI+ LEDs. They are designed for detailing as well as more accurate assessment and comparison of colours on painted surfaces.

Is a carry bag included?

Yes. The lights come in a sturdy nylon bag with a carrying strap, a main storage compartment and practical side pockets.
