REDARC SBI12-BLD Smart Start BMS load disconnect controller, standard battery, 12 V

The REDARC SBI12-BLD Smart Start is a load disconnect controller used with a REDARC Manager15 or Manager30 BMS to protect the auxiliary battery from excessive discharge. It is designed specifically as the load disconnect solenoid controlled by the BMS. The black (earth) wire connects to the load pin of the BMS.

The BMS sets the turn-on and turn-off points in its settings and switches the black wire. It earths the wire when loads should be on and removes the earth when loads should be off. The SBI12-BLD also monitors its own voltage thresholds so that the solenoid engages reliably.

The unit has several spike protection components that reduce the risk of damage to it. They also stop spikes from the solenoid coil from affecting vehicle equipment.
