Description

DINITROL 6030 Alusoft 2K is a two-component polyester body filler for repairing dents in vehicle bodies and steel structures. The layer is compact and pore-free.

Thanks to its high aluminium content, it helps protect the repaired area against corrosion. Another advantage shows during sanding: dust from dry sanding is extracted faster than with ordinary fillers, so less of it settles and the workshop stays cleaner.

Preparation by substrate

The preparation method depends on what you are applying the filler to:

• Thermoplastic paint — sand the substrate, polish it and clean it thoroughly, for example with a silicone remover. The surface must be dry and free of grease, mill scale and rust
• 2K paints — matt down and remove dust and grease
• Galvanised steel — clean with thinner or ethyl acetate
• Aluminium — sand lightly. Adhesion varies depending on the alloy, so always test it beforehand

Mixing and application

• Prepare the substrate according to its type (see above) and degrease it thoroughly
• Take the required amount of filler and mix it thoroughly with the hardener supplied in the pack
• Work the mixture within 5 minutes — the time depends on temperature and the amount of hardener
• On vertical surfaces you can apply a layer of up to 15 mm in one go
• Close the opened tin immediately after taking out filler

What you will need

You can mix filler and hardener quickly and cleanly on a Kemtex mixing pad.

Use Japanese spreaders for application and a soft spreader for rounded panels.

Degreasing products can be found in the surface preparation category. When sanding, wear a respirator, goggles and gloves.

Finishing the repair

Finish the surface with the fine filler DINITROL 6050 PLUS Polystar 2K, or with 6052 or 6060 Polyfill 2K.

Treat areas sanded through to the substrate and filler spots with DINITROL 6110 primer, and use DINITROL 6715 or 6716 Acry-Fill 2K as a filler primer. You will find them in the fillers and primers category.

Which filler to choose?

6030 Alusoft — for deeper dents up to 15 mm, with aluminium against corrosion.

6010 Super Soft — softer and easier to sand, for routine levelling of uneven areas.

6050 Polystar — fine filler for final filling before painting.

Frequently Asked Questions – Do I need to buy hardener separately?

No. The hardener is included in the pack, so there is no need to buy it separately.

Why is there aluminium in the filler?

The aluminium content helps protect the repaired area against corrosion and also changes how the dust behaves during dry sanding — it is extracted faster than with ordinary fillers.

Can I apply it to thermoplastic paint?

Yes, provided you sand the substrate, polish it and clean it thoroughly with a silicone remover. The surface must be dry and free of grease, mill scale and rust. The 6010 and 6070 fillers must not be used on thermoplastic paint.

How do I prepare galvanised steel?

Clean galvanised steel with thinner or ethyl acetate. Unlike some other fillers, 6030 does not need a separate primer before application.
