Meguiars Engine Dressing - protection and shine for engine parts, 450 ml

Meguiar's Engine Dressing keeps everything under the hood looking new. This dressing safely restores and protects materials used in the engine compartment while maintaining their "like-new" appearance. The product is non-greasy and free from solvents that can be harmful to the skin. It provides long-lasting protection against cracking, fading, and hardening of plastics and rubber.

Recommended engine cleaning procedure - quick/dry cleaning:

• Warm up the engine briefly before cleaning - let it run with the hood closed for 10 minutes to loosen dirt and grease buildup.
• Remove leaves and other large debris from the engine compartment using compressed air or another suitable method.
• Shake the engine cleaner before use, such as G14816 Meguiar's Engine Cleaner.
• Spray an adequate amount of the product directly onto the surface being cleaned from approximately 30 cm away.
• Using a brush with stiff but not sharp bristles, gently scrub the entire surface. You can use brushes from our range.
• Then, use two microfiber towels to wipe away any remaining product from all surfaces.
• Wipe away dirt with one cloth and dry with the other.
• Do not allow the product to remain on any surface longer than indicated on its label or to dry!
• If needed, divide the engine compartment into smaller sections, e.g., quarters, and work in parts to avoid exceeding the product's time limit!
• Do not use on polished metal surfaces without a protective coating!
• Finally, apply a protectant to all cleaned surfaces. This will treat the surfaces after using the degreaser, nourish them, protect, and give them a luxurious, rich, and dark appearance.
• Spray the dressing onto the surface and evenly spread it using a soft brush, such as one from our current range.
• Allow the dressing to dry.
• Wipe away any excess with a microfiber cloth to achieve a uniform, dark, and rich look on all plastic, rubber, and metal parts.

Recommended engine cleaning procedure - complete detailing:

• Modern engines are designed to withstand moisture. So with the right procedure, you can easily and effectively clean even heavily soiled engine compartments.
• Wear safety goggles when working to prevent cleaning agents and other chemicals from entering your eyes.
• Warm up the engine briefly before cleaning - let it run with the hood closed for 10 minutes to loosen dirt and grease buildup.
• Remove leaves and other large debris from the engine compartment using compressed air or another suitable method.
• Using masking tape with masking film from our range, mask the engine area (front bumper, fenders, front doors) to prevent the cleaning agent and other chemicals from contaminating the surrounding paint and dirt from the engine compartment.
• Cover all sensitive electronic parts that could be affected by water (e.g., exposed sensors, installed electronic devices without necessary seals, open air filters, etc.) before cleaning.
• Wrap electronics and open air filters with food-grade plastic wrap to prevent moisture and dirt ingress, then secure them with aluminum foil and tape.
• You can seal air intakes using a microfiber or cotton cloth.
• Shake the engine cleaner before use, such as G14816 Meguiar's Engine Cleaner.
• Spray an adequate amount of the product directly onto the surface being cleaned from approximately 30 cm away.
• Using a brush with stiff but not sharp bristles, carefully scrub the entire surface, including all corners. You can use brushes from our range.
• Rinse the cleaned area with water. We recommend using a spray nozzle on a hose. Using a pressure washer can cause moisture to penetrate sensitive electronics, and a strong water stream may mechanically damage some fragile components in the engine compartment!
• Do not allow the product to remain on any surface longer than indicated on its label or to dry!
• If needed, divide the engine compartment into smaller sections, e.g., quarters, and work in parts to avoid exceeding the product's time limit!
• Do not use on polished metal surfaces without a protective coating!
• Next, clean the underside of the hood using the same method. Finally, we recommend washing the inside of the hood with a washing mitt and car shampoo to enhance the paint's gloss and rinse with water.
• If there is a fabric lining on the hood, spray only a small amount of the product onto the surface, clean with a gentle brush suitable for fabrics, and wipe with a microfiber cloth.
• Thoroughly rinse the entire engine compartment to remove any residues of the cleaning agent.
• Drying can be done in two ways:
  • Close the hood, start the engine, and let it dry with heat. Before starting, uncover all covered parts of the engine!
  • Dry the engine compartment using compressed air (recommended).
• Unmask the surrounding body parts, revealing all engine parts.
• Finally, apply a protectant to all cleaned non-textile surfaces. This will treat surfaces after using the degreaser, nourish them, protect, and give them a luxurious, rich, and dark appearance.
• Spray the dressing onto the surface and evenly spread it using a gentle brush, such as one from our current range.
• Allow the dressing to dry.
