DINITROL 460 window sealant 310 ml

Description

DINITROL 460 is a permanently elastic sealant with a high solids content of 71 % and good UV resistance. It is intended for vehicle repairs — primarily for sealing glass set in rubber seals, i.e. where the glass is not bonded.

It can also be used for sealing between rubber profiles and body joints or for sealing glass sunroofs.

Stays elastic and does not turn brittle

Once set, the material stays permanently elastic — it does not dry out or turn brittle even after years. The surface remains slightly elastic and tacky, which is normal for this type of sealant.

It does not damage chrome, paint or rubber parts, so it is also suitable for older vehicles with chrome trims around the windows.

Application

• The surface to be treated must be free of oil, dust and grease
• Insert the nozzle tip between the glass and the rubber seal, or between the metal and the rubber profile
• Dispense the material with a suitable cartridge gun
• Remove the excess with a plastic spatula and wipe with a cloth dampened with white spirit, or dab it off with a lint-free cloth

It is not a windscreen adhesive

DINITROL 460 does not bond glass structurally — it only seals. For bonded windscreens, use polyurethane adhesives from the windscreen adhesives category, for example DINITROL 501 FC.

FAQ – Can I use it to bond a windscreen?

No. DINITROL 460 is a sealant, not an adhesive — it will not hold the glass. It is intended for glass set in rubber seals. Bonded glass requires a polyurethane adhesive.

Why does the surface stay tacky?

This is a property of the material, not a defect. The layer stays slightly elastic and tacky — which is exactly why it seals permanently and does not turn brittle even after years.

Will it damage the chrome trims around the glass?

No. The material does not harm chrome, paint or rubber parts, so it is also suitable for older vehicles with chrome trims.

How do I remove excess material?

With a plastic spatula and a cloth dampened with white spirit. Alternatively, dab it off with a lint-free cloth.
