Koch-Chemie Clay Pad is a special 150 mm decontamination pad for use with random orbital polishers. It works very fast, lasts a long time, is washable and is easy to handle.
Koch-Chemie Clay Pad is a professional solution for preparing paint quickly and thoroughly before polishing. This special 150 mm pad is designed for a random orbital (DA) polisher and replaces the traditional hand clay bar. Its advanced polymerised rubber layer lets you machine-remove firmly bonded contamination from the surface in a fraction of the usual time.
The pad is ideal for businesses that handle a large number of vehicles and need to cut the time spent on mechanical decontamination without lowering the quality of the result.
Claying a bonnet by hand can take several minutes. With the machine Clay Pad, you get a perfectly smooth surface in a few seconds. The larger pad surface and the steady orbit of the polisher keep even contact with the paint and effectively remove:
Flash rust and brake dust.
Dried tree sap and insect residue.
Industrial fallout and paint overspray.
Limescale deposits on glass.
One of the biggest advantages over a conventional clay bar is the service life. The Clay Pad does not crumble or dry out, and with proper use it will last for dozens of cars. If you drop it on the floor or it clogs during work, there is no need to throw it away. Just rinse it thoroughly under running water or wash it in a container of water and carry on working.
Always use a lubricant: machine decontamination needs a constant supply of lubricant. We recommend Koch-Chemie Clay Spray, which gives the necessary slip and protects the paint from excessive friction.
Speed and pressure: work at the lowest polisher speed settings (setting 1, 1,000–2,000 rpm, with light pressure). Do not press down on the polisher. The weight of the machine is enough for effective decontamination.
Paint temperature: never work on a hot surface or in direct sunlight. This could damage the polymerised layer of the pad.
Polishing afterwards: like other mechanical cleaning methods, the machine pad can leave fine micro-marring (haze). The product is therefore mainly intended as a preparation step before machine polishing.
After each use, rinse the pad with clean water to remove the loosened dirt. Store it in a clean, dry place, ideally in its original packaging, so that dust does not stick to the polymerised side.
