DINITROL Metallic Spray is a bronze underbody protection spray for long-term protection against corrosion, stone chips and mechanical stress. Once dry, it forms a firm waxy film with high heat resistance. Heat resistance above +130 °C – also suitable for heat-exposed parts, stone-chip resistance – protects exposed areas of the vehicle underside, flexibility at low temperatures – adhesion is retained down to −20 °C.
DINITROL Metallic Spray is a bronze protective spray for underbodies and other metal parts exposed to corrosion, mechanical stress and elevated temperatures.
Once dry, it forms a firm, flexible, waxy protective film that resists stone chips, road salt and wear. Its high heat resistance means it can also be used in areas exposed to elevated operating or process temperatures.
1500 hours in the salt spray test At the recommended dry film thickness of 300–500 μm.
Stone-chip resistance Suitable for exposed areas of the vehicle underside subject to mechanical impact.
Safe on paintwork According to the technical data sheet, it has no effect on paint — there is no need to mask surrounding parts.
Bronze shade instead of black Suitable where the protection should visually blend in with the original brown coating rather than leave a black patch.
The material does not attack zinc, rubber or plastic parts and is also suitable for environments with high corrosive load.
DINITROL Metallic Spray is also suitable for local repairs and renewal of existing underbody coatings. It can also be used to repair a protective coating made with DINITROL 4942.
The original coating must be firm, clean, dry and compatible. Loose, cracked or poorly adhering areas must be removed before application.
The surface must be clean, dry and free of corrosion before application. Remove dirt, grease and loose residues of old protective coatings.
If corrosion is already present on the surface, clean it mechanically first and then apply a penetrating coat such as DINITROL ML or DINITROL 3650. Only then is the final protective coat applied.
The aerosol is practical for local repairs and smaller jobs. For complete underbody treatment or larger jobs, a larger pack of DINITROL Metallic and professional application equipment are the better choice.
Suitable guns and application equipment can be found in the DINITROL Application Equipment category.
Final protective coat DINITROL Metallic is not intended to be painted over or covered with another protective coat.
How to protect the underbody against corrosion properly
Successful anti-corrosion treatment depends on the condition of the substrate, its preparation, suitable pre-treatment and the correct thickness of the final protective coat.

The bronze-brown shade comes close to the look of brown wax coatings, so the repaired area does not stand out as a contrasting patch. If you want a black top coat, choose DINITROL 4941 / CAR.
Yes. Metallic Spray can be used for local repairs and renewal of a DINITROL 4942 protective coating. The original coating must be firm, clean and dry, and poorly adhering areas must be removed.
Yes, with white spirit, which the technical data sheet lists as the recommended solvent.
