DINITROL ML is a penetrating cavity wax for protecting enclosed cavities, seams, overlaps and areas where corrosion has already formed. It penetrates deep into hard-to-reach spaces, displaces moisture and helps limit further corrosion. Excellent penetration – reaches narrow seams, joints and overlaps, also suitable for corroded substrates – helps stop corrosion from spreading further, displaces moisture – leaves a water-repellent, oily protective film.

DINITROL ML is a highly penetrating anti-corrosion product for enclosed cavities, seams, panel overlaps and other hard-to-reach areas. Thanks to its low viscosity, it penetrates narrow joints and corroded areas, where it helps limit further corrosion.
The material can also be applied to damp or corroded substrates once loose corrosion has been removed. After application, an oily, water-repellent and flexible protective film remains on the surface.
High penetration Penetrates seams, overlaps and narrow corroded areas.
Suitable for corroded substrates Can also be applied where firmly bonded corrosion remains after cleaning.
Displaces existing moisture Also suitable for cavities where residual moisture may be present.
Very good flexibility in the cold The protective film retains its adhesion even at temperatures below −40 °C.
ML is intended mainly for areas that thicker protective coatings cannot reach or where existing corrosion first needs penetrating treatment.
There is no need to take every treated area back to bare metal before application. Loose and flaking corrosion must, however, be removed. Firmly adhering corrosion can remain on the surface.
Thanks to its penetrating properties, the material reaches deep into joints, panel overlaps and other areas where corrosion can continue beneath the surface.
In anti-corrosion underbody treatment, ML can serve as the penetrating first coat. Once the corroded areas have been treated, a suitable DINITROL bitumen underbody coating is applied to create a more durable outer layer of protection.
Underbody topcoat materials can be found in the DINITROL underbody protection category.
Guns, probes and other equipment for professional application can be found in the DINITROL Application Equipment category.
Which cavity wax to use?
The choice depends mainly on the condition of the substrate and the type of protection required. ML is suitable where high penetration matters and where you are working on damp or corroded surfaces.
How to choose the right cavity wax →
Colour brown
Film type oily, greasy
Wet film approx. 30 μm
Dry film approx. 10 μm
Drying approx. 1 hour
Low-temperature adhesion below −40 °C
Penetration in a 50 μm gap more than 70 mm
Removal white spirit
Mainly when high penetration into cavities, seams and overlaps is needed, or when corrosion or residual moisture is already present on the substrate.
Yes. Loose and flaking rust must be removed first, but firmly adhering corrosion can remain on the substrate.
Yes. The material is also suitable for damp substrates and, thanks to its penetrating properties, helps displace existing moisture.
It is primarily intended as penetrating protection for cavities, seams and corroded areas. In underbody protection, it can form the first coat, which is then covered with a suitable DINITROL bitumen underbody coating.
