REDARC BCDC1240D DC-DC battery charger, 12 V, 40 A, MPPT solar regulator

The REDARC BCDC1240D is an in-vehicle DC-DC battery charger that delivers 40 A of continuous charging current to a 12 V auxiliary battery. It is the latest version of the award-winning BCDC Dual range and uses REDARC Smart Start technology. Its built-in MPPT solar regulator lets it charge from the alternator and solar at the same time. Green Power Priority uses solar first, which puts less load on the alternator.

The charger works in 12 V and 24 V vehicles with standard or variable voltage alternators, including smart alternators. Its patented charging profiles include a lithium (LiFePO4) profile. The Dual input range also charges AGM, GEL, standard lead acid and calcium batteries. The BCDC1240D is meant for battery banks over 200 Ah. For smaller batteries of 75 - 200 Ah, REDARC recommends the BCDC1225D.

The BCDC technology has been independently verified and tested. It charges the battery to a proven 100 %, which maximises battery life.
