Tips for waxing and protecting paint:

• The body should be cool to the touch and in the shade.
• The paint surface should be clean and dry. If necessary, decontaminate the paint surface using Meguiar's clay - this will give you a paint surface as smooth as glass, allowing the protective coating to adhere longer.
• If needed, remove paint defects (scratches, stains, oxidation, etc.) and achieve maximum gloss with one of our effective and gentle polishing products Meguiar's.
• Use only very small amounts - the thicker the layer of wax, the harder it is to wipe off, and the faster it will run out. Larger amounts do not increase protection!
• One container of wax, whether solid or liquid, should be enough to treat 20-25 cars when applied correctly!
• The difference between solid and liquid wax from Meguiar's is just a matter of personal preference. Both types will provide your vehicle with the same protection, so choose the one that works easier and more comfortably for you.
• Wax can enhance and highlight the gloss and depth of paint that you achieved with previous polishing. However, they are not intended to create gloss on dull and oxidized paint. This can only be achieved through polishing.
• The easiest way is to apply wax over the entire body surface. Meanwhile, just let the wax dry, and we can swap the applicator for a microfiber cloth and start wiping off the wax in the same order. This method should take us 20 to 30 minutes of work on a personal vehicle without much effort.
• Wax will slightly shrink as it dries. However, if you are unsure whether the wax is dry enough to wipe off, use the "finger test". Try to wipe the wax with the pad of your finger - if you smear the wax on the surface, we recommend waiting a bit longer, but if you can wipe it clean with your finger, you can polish it off.
• Avoid all rubber and plastic surfaces during application, as the wax may leave white streaks.
• By regularly using Meguiar's shampoos, you can significantly extend the longevity of the wax layer and the water-repellent effect (the so-called hydrophobic effect). Between regular washes, the best maintenance will be provided by using Meguiar's Detailer.
• Do not use aggressive and cleaning agents, degreasers (typically dishwashing liquids, etc.). These products are not gentle on the wax layer and severely weaken it, in some cases completely removing the wax from the surface of the paint, as well as the polishing oils that nourish the paint, resulting in a dry, exposed paint that begins to degrade very quickly and is easily mechanically and chemically damaged until the paint is again protected with a new layer of wax or another suitable protection.

Procedure for waxing a car:

• Work on the body that is in the shade and cool to the touch.
• Using the foam applicator included with this wax, scoop a small amount of wax from the container.
• Using circular motions without pressure, let the applicator slide over the surface.
• Apply a very thin matte film, visible against the light.
• If needed, add wax in very small cherry-sized amounts - unless you are using the applicator to apply a sufficiently thin layer of wax as you did at the beginning of the task.
• A thicker layer of wax does not increase protection! If you use too much wax, it will be harder to wipe and will run out faster!
• Let the wax dry on the surface for at least a few minutes (depending on the surrounding conditions in which you are working - temperature, humidity).
• After the wax has dried, gently wipe it off with a microfiber cloth X1906 Meguiar's Supreme Finishing Towel, X2010 Meguiar's Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel, or E101 Meguiar's Ultimate Microfiber Towel.
