DINITROL 520 cleaner 250 ml

Description

DINITROL 520 KLEENACT is a clear solvent-based activator that cleans the bonding surface and improves adhesion at the same time. It is used for windscreen replacement together with the black primer DINITROL 530.

Combined with the DINITROL 550 multiprimer, it also improves adhesion on various metals and plastics.

Do not use the activator once it has turned cloudy

The activator reacts with moisture in the air, so it must be used within 5 days of first opening. Unopened, it keeps for 12 months.

If moisture turns it milky, it must not be used any more because it can no longer promote adhesion. Close the bottle tightly straight after each use.

Application

• Apply the activator evenly to the ceramic edge of the glass with a clean lint-free cloth
• Wipe off immediately with a second clean cloth
• Work at temperatures between +5 and +40 °C
• Allow a flash-off time of at least 10 minutes and carry out the next step within 24 hours at the latest
• Then apply the black primer. Close the bottle immediately after use

What you will need

You need lint-free cloths and the black primer DINITROL 530, both found in the surface preparation category.

The activator is highly flammable and may cause an allergic skin reaction. Work in a well-ventilated area and wear nitrile gloves and eye protection.

Frequently Asked Questions – My activator has turned milky. Can I still use it?

No. Cloudiness means the activator has reacted with moisture in the air and can no longer promote adhesion. Using it would put the bond of the glass at risk.

Is the activator enough on its own, or do I also need a primer?

For glass replacement, 520 is used together with the black primer 530, and on metals and plastics with the 550 multiprimer. The pre-treatment table shows which process applies to a given substrate.

How soon do I have to continue after applying the activator?

No earlier than after 10 minutes of flash-off and no later than 24 hours. After a longer time the activator has to be applied again.
