SprayMax 2K UV clear coat is a colourless, transparent two-component 2K clear coat for hard plastics, specifically for repairing and protecting headlights.
Restore the original clarity, gloss and protection of your headlights with SprayMAX 2K 2in1 headlight clear coat. This two-component (2K) colourless clear coat aerosol is specially developed for repairing and providing long-term protection to polycarbonate headlight lenses damaged over time by UV radiation, stone chips, scratches and other environmental factors.
Vehicle headlights are constantly exposed to harsh conditions that make them yellow, dull and cloudy, which significantly reduces light output and driving safety. SprayMAX 2K 2in1 clear coat solves this problem by forming an extremely durable, highly transparent and lightfast protective layer.
Thanks to its two-component technology (clear coat and hardener in one can), the product offers excellent resistance to UV radiation, salt water, car wash chemicals and mechanical damage such as stone chips. The clear coat bonds permanently to the surface, preventing renewed yellowing and degradation. The result is not only a restored appearance but also improved light output and vehicle safety.
Application is simple but requires careful surface preparation by sanding for the best result. With its professional nozzle and high gloss level (94 +/- 4 gloss units at 20°), you get a finish that looks like new.
Two-component (2K) system: Clear coat and hardener in one can for maximum durability and longevity.
Headlight restoration and protection: Repairs yellowed, dull and scratched polycarbonate headlights.
High transparency and gloss: Restores the original clarity and deep gloss of headlights.
Extreme durability: Protects against UV radiation, weathering, salt water, chemicals and mechanical damage (stone chips).
Prevents yellowing: Keeps headlights clear and transparent for the long term.
Improves safety: Restores full headlight output.
Easy application: Professional nozzle for an even spray pattern.
Preparation: Wash the headlights thoroughly and remove insects and dirt. Degrease the surface. Carefully mask the area around the headlights.
Restoration – sanding:
Yellowed or dull headlights without deep scratches: Sand the surface with P1000 and then P3000 sandpaper (wet, not in circular motions).
Headlights with scratches or white stone chip marks: Sand progressively, starting with a coarser grit (e.g. P180, P400, P1000, P3000). Scratches can also be machine polished.
After sanding, remove all sanding dust thoroughly and degrease the surface again.
Activating the clear coat: Shake the can thoroughly before use (approx. 2 min). Take the red piece out of the cap, place it on the pin at the bottom of the can, set the can on a firm surface and press down hard. Shake again for approx. 2 min so the components mix thoroughly.
Spraying:
Apply a very thin mist coat to the degreased, dry surface.
Immediately apply a second, full coat in a smooth pass.
Allow to dry (ideally overnight at 20°C, or 30 min at 60°C).
If needed (to remove imperfections), polish with polishing compound once fully cured.
Use in a well-ventilated area.
Wear protective equipment (gloves, respirator, safety glasses).
Do not let the clear coat dry in an excessively thick layer.
Once activated, the clear coat has a limited pot life (usually a few hours, see the can for exact instructions).
