Meguiar`s Matte Paint Kit BASIC - basic care kit for matte paints, wraps, and PPF

Matte finishes create a very luxurious and attractive impression. However, their maintenance is more demanding in some respects than with glossy finishes.

What to avoid when maintaining matte finishes?

• using any products that add shine
• manual decontamination using clay (both natural and synthetic)
• using any type of polishing products (both abrasive and non-abrasive)
• using liquid and solid waxes
• applying any pressure on the towel, cloth, mitt, or applicator
• any formation of defects

Defects (scratches, stains, bird droppings, etc.) cannot be removed from matte finishes. Therefore, special care is extremely important to keep the matte finish looking like new and in perfect condition. Using inappropriate products can irreparably damage the matte surface.

At the same time, it is very important to prevent any damage! Contaminants like bird droppings or insects must be removed from the matte finish as soon as possible to minimize the risk of etching the paint surface, which cannot be safely removed.

Keep in mind that when treating matte finishes, you must not apply any pressure! Even the slightest pressure on a cloth, applicator, towel, or mitt can scratch the paint, and removing defects is impossible on a matte finish, making them permanent!

Based on a long-term collaboration with Škoda Auto a.s., we have prepared Meguiar's car care kits consisting exclusively of products that are safe for matte finishes, so you can use them for the care of this specific type of surface. All products have been tested in our training center and meet the demanding requirements for washing, maintaining, and protecting matte colors.

All products in this kit can also be safely used on glossy or matte wraps or PPF (Paint Protection Film).
