DINITROL 7660 Silioff is a fast-drying cleaner and silicone remover for surface preparation before painting. 10 L canister. Removes silicone and sanding dust – the most common causes of craters in paint, dries quickly – no delay before spraying, also degreases metal parts.

Description

DINITROL 7660 Silioff is a fast-drying cleaning agent and silicone remover designed for all cleaning work before painting.

It reliably removes sanding dust from body fillers and primers as well as oil and silicone residues — exactly what most often causes craters and defects in fresh paint. Fewer defects mean less re-sanding and rework.

It can also be used as a fast-drying degreaser for metal surfaces.

Allow the surface to flash off thoroughly

If the silicone remover does not flash off completely, bubbles can form in the paint during forced drying. Always wait until the surface is completely dry before spraying.

Usage

  • Apply the product to the surface just before painting
  • Wipe off with a clean, lint-free cloth
  • Allow the cleaned surface to dry thoroughly before painting

What you will need

You need lint-free cloths — you will find them in the cleaning and wipes category.

The product is highly flammable and its vapours may cause dizziness — work in a well-ventilated area wearing nitrile gloves and eye protection.

You will find more surface preparation products in the surface preparation category, and fillers and primers in the fillers and primers category.

Frequently Asked Questions – Why did bubbles form in my paint?

Most often because the silicone remover had not fully flashed off before painting. During forced drying its residues evaporate through the fresh paint and create bubbles. The surface must be completely dry before spraying.

When should I apply it?

Just before painting, as the last preparation step. If you clean the surface earlier and handle it in the meantime, grease from your hands and dust will get back onto it.

Why a lint-free cloth?

An ordinary cloth leaves fibres on the surface, which get painted over and will be visible in the finished paint. The same applies to low-quality paper towels.
