Set of intake manifold caps for Audi/Seat/Skoda/Volkswagen 2.0 TDI CR engines

A set enabling the disassembly of swirl flaps in 2.0 TDI CR engines, consists of an original Victor Reinz/Elring manifold gasket, a limiter for the extreme positions of the adjuster and plugs made of the same material as the original swirl flaps and the intake manifold, additionally reinforced with glass fiber (PA66 GF35).

Swirl flaps are elements used in diesel engines whose main task is to introduce turbulence in the air flow into the combustion chamber in order to increase combustion efficiency. Unfortunately, these flip-flops have many disadvantages such as:

  • swirl flaps are an engine part that is subject to heavy wear and tear and may fail. Their failure can lead to serious problems with engine operation, such as loss of power, noise or vibration.
  • swirl flaps, even in the open position, significantly restrict the air flow, which causes additional resistance and reduces combustion efficiency. In particular, when the engine is modified to increase power and torque, swirl flaps become a serious limitation to engine performance.
  • swirl flaps are also expensive to repair or replace. Removing them and replacing them with caps is a popular modification used among automotive enthusiasts who want to increase the performance of their engine and avoid costly repairs.

Application:

VAG (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda) 2.0 TDI CR engines with plastic manifold no. 03L129711AG, produced in 2008-2014:

2.0 CAAB, 102 HP
2.0 CAGA, 143 HP
2.0 CAGB, 136 HP
2.0 CAGC, 120 HP
2.0 CAHA, 170 HP
2.0 CAHB, 163 HP
2.0 CBAA, 136 HP
2.0 CBAB, 140 HP
2.0 CBAC, 143 HP
2.0 CBBB, 170 HP
2.0 CBDA, 136 HP
2.0 CBDB, 140 HP
2.0 CBDC, 110 HP
2.0 CEGA, 170 HP
2.0 CJAA, 140 HP
2.0 CMEA, 143 HP

After installing the caps, use the adjuster limiter, which is included in the kit, to avoid displaying the error on the dashboard.

It should be possible to remove the following error codes with this repair kit:

P1018, 012597, P3135, P2008, P2011, 004120

The mentioned error codes are related to problems in the operation of the swirl flaps or their position sensors, which may lead to various irregularities, such as burning of the actuator motor or oil leak.

P2008 and P2011 refer to jammed swirl flaps in bank 1 or 2, and code 004120 indicates a problem with swirl flaps in bank 2. P1018 refers to an incorrect signal from the swirl flap position sensor in bank 1, while code 012597 indicates abnormalities in engine operation, which may be caused by, among others, jamming of the swirl flaps.

The P3135 code also concerns the swirl flap position sensor, which has not reached the required point, which can lead to various engine problems.

Set includes:

  • 8 x ADITECH swirl flap caps,
  • 1 x VICTOR REINZ / Erling collector gasket,
  • 1 x ADITECH24 flap adjuster position limiter,
  • 1 x ADITECH aluminum collector cap on the adjuster side,
  • 1 x adjuster side cap clip

Technical specifications:
Plugs made of PA66 GF35, the same material as the intake collector and swirl flaps.
Perfect repeatability of dimensions.
The original design of the caps makes it impossible to turn the flaps or suck them into the combustion chamber.
