Self-amalgamating tape it based on PIB (Polyisobutylene) rubber. This is a very versatile material for water insulation, corrosion protection, jointing and repair of cables - used both indoors and outdoors.

Product properties and correct application ensure waterproof connections (for fresh and sea water) in a wide range of temperature.
Self-amalgamating tape provides basic protection of connections in power distribution systems, telecommunications, RF installations - especially outdoors:
  • The tape adheres quickly when applying the certain move;
  • Wide operating temperature range: -40 ... + 90 ° C;
  • Compatibility with a wide range of rubber and plastic cable insulation (e.g. PE, PVC, butyl, neoprene);
  • High resistance to long-term immersion in water and excellent resistance to ozone;
  • The tape can be cleanly removed from most surfaces - ideal for temporary repairs;
  • The tape is interleaved with a disposable plastic separating medium.
It is not a glued (adhesive) tape. The sealing effect is caused self-amalgamating between individual layers of tape. The material surface must be dry and free of dust and grease. Installation temperature must be above 0°C (the higher the temperature, the faster the cure - at a temperature of 20°C it takes about 24 hours). The last layer is gapless, tightly wrapped around the surface. Must not be released - in fact the tape is being removed by lengthwise incision. The tape does not react with the surface material so that it does not leave a trace.
