Description

DINITROL 410 UV NF is a one-component polyurethane adhesive and sealant that cures on exposure to atmospheric moisture. Once cured, it forms a flexible, durable joint suitable for structural bonding and sealing.

It is used mainly in the manufacture and repair of buses, trucks, caravans and boats, and in other industrial applications. The black version is the right choice where the joint should visually match dark surfaces or structural components.

UV and weather resistance Also suitable for visible joints exposed to sunlight and outdoor conditions.

Flexible joint The cured material remains elastic and can absorb movement between the bonded parts.

Good adhesion Suitable for primed and painted metals, GFRP, rigid PVC, wood and glass.

Paintable Once cured, it can be overcoated with most common paint systems.

Surface preparation

The surface must be clean, dry and free of dust, oil and grease before application. The quality of the surface preparation directly affects the adhesion of the finished joint.

Application and curing

• Thoroughly clean, degrease and dry the surface
• Apply the cartridge with a standard caulking gun
• Work the material at a temperature of approximately +5 to +35 °C
• Shape or smooth the joint before a skin forms
• Carry out a compatibility test on special substrates or paint systems

At 23 °C and 50 % relative humidity, a skin forms in approximately 30 minutes. The curing rate is approximately 3 mm per 24 hours.

Painting the cured joint

Once cured, DINITROL 410 UV NF can be painted with most common paint systems. Check compatibility with the specific paint system beforehand.

Resistance of the cured joint

The cured material is resistant to water, salt water, dilute acids and alkalis, and water-based cleaning agents. The cured material withstands temperatures from −40 °C to +90 °C, and up to +120 °C for short periods.
